The Snag
Hawkstone's rapid growth highlighted the need for a stronger tech stack to support its ambitions. By January 2023, the brand had moved from Squarespace to Shopify and partnered with Sunday Times Wine Club as its 3PL.
However, this was the 3PL’s first Shopify integration, with no out-of-the-box solution available. The warehouse was set up for rigid wine shipments, while Hawkstone’s customers ordered beer, crisps, glassware, and more in varied quantities — creating a complex data mismatch between Shopify and the 3PL’s SAP ERP system.
Referred by Shopify agency Pluro, HighCohesion stepped in to bridge the gap. We worked closely with Hawkstone and Pluro to build a flexible, custom integration that resulted in a smooth Shopify launch and a system ready to scale.
The Project
HighCohesion streamlined Hawkstone’s operations by translating complex Shopify order data for the warehouse. While customers shop as usual, HighCohesion’s Control Panel customises order data for smooth picking and packing.
We also enhanced order visibility and enabled real-time inventory syncing through an AirTable inventory management system. This automatically calculates stock levels across all formats — bundles, mixed selections, limited editions, and pre-orders — preventing over-ordering and improving the customer experience.
Ultimately, HighCohesion bridged the gap between systems that wouldn’t otherwise connect, empowering Hawkstone to scale without tech limitations.
