The Snag

Adanola’s become a cult brand. It processes tens of thousands of orders monthly and is stocked by Harrods and Selfridges.

Despite rapid growth, it stays committed to sustainability — producing in small batches, using 100% recyclable packaging, and offsetting carbon emissions.

However, scaling up brought challenges.

A failed back-end launch caused inefficiencies, stock visibility issues, and a broken returns process, frustrating customers and straining its community.

Adanola had the vision, products, and loyal following — but needed a reliable tech stack that could handle its success.

The Project

Rather than trying to right the wrongs already in place, we started with a clean sheet. Our intense Solution Design process unravelled the errors and helped catch fundamental inefficiencies.

Stock status was our first target, as we made sure the data flowing into Adanola’s WMS Peoplevox was timely and precise.

Next up was Adanola’s returns process.

By properly integrating Aftership, HighCohesion helped Adanola regain complete control of stock entering back into the system and automated the process to save time and money.

Furthermore, we enabled lighting-quick and dependable currency conversion across Adanola’s global Shopify stores to eliminate inaccuracies across the orders and returns process.

The work took less than six months, culminating in a meticulous build and test period before a three-day launch process that left absolutely no stone unturned.

The Results

Accurate stock management: Adanola now has far greater visibility over its stock, which means fewer oversold items.

Data confidence: With new-found confidence in the data flowing through its channels, staff can spend less time manually sorting problems.

Happy community: No more out-of-stock frustrations or chasing up missing orders.
